Matriculants begin 2016 final examination

Raisethorpe Secondary pupils waited anxiously before the commencement of their first NSC matric examination on Wednesday.

194 learners from Raisethorpe Secondary wrote English paper one on Wednesday and a few shared their feelings before the commencement of their examinations.

It’s a bittersweet moment for learner Tejal Naraindath, “I am feeling nervous but this is definitely a defining moment for me. I don’t know what to expect in the departmental examinations but I feel that my teachers have adequately prepared us.”

IMG_7266Seventeen year old Theron Adimulam feels that his educators have played a major role in preparing learners for the examinations. Although he is anxious about the commencement of examinations, he is keen on beginning this journey in his life.

Shamentha Naidoo who plans on studying law next year believes that she is well equipped for the NSC examinations as the extra lessons from her teachers have prepared has really benefited her in preparing for her examinations.

“I am excited about the commencement of exams. Twelve years of studying has led up to this moment and this is our final chance to excel in school. It is encouraging to know that I have such supportive classmates who make this journey easier for me,” said Macaira Noubouth.

Vashil Ramlall feels that there is a lot of expectations and pressure on him at this time. “The pressure I have is internal because I expect a lot from myself when it comes to academics. I am grateful for my parents at this time because they always manage to calm me down when I feel stressed,” Vashil said.

Noxolo Thafeni

Noxolo Thafeni

Commerce student Noxolo Thadeni is overwhelmed at this time as she cannot believe it is nearing the end of her schooling career. “I am stressed and excited at the same time which makes me feel very emotional but I am sure that exams are going to go very well for me,” Noxolo explained.
