Beharie, 43, otherwise known as “Bacha” and chairman of the Sector 4 community watch group   appeared in the Pmb Magistrate’s court today on charges of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm where he was granted R1 000 bail magistrate Boikutso. He is alleged to shot at three men resulting in one being injured.

Charges against Beharie relate to an incident that took place on September 20 where he allegedly responded to a call for assistance by the PAC Community watch group when three men had allegedly forced their way into a Trichy Road home.

It is believed that Beharie and two PAC group members gave chase on foot as the three suspects tried to escape.

Beharie was not asked to plead and the case has been adjourned to October 27.
