Safety crusader shot in home attack

Anesh Singh with his wife who were both rushed to hospital yesterday after two men allegedly shot and assualted the couple

Police were called to the house on Maharaj Road following a report that gunshots were fired in the home at around 12.55am.

According to Mountain Rise police spokesperson, Captain Gay Ebrahim, two intruders managed to gain access to the property.

Captain Ebrahim said Singh’s wife was in another room at the time when she heard gunshots. She rushed to the source of the sound and to her horror, found her husband reeling on the floor after being shot by the two unknown assailants. The attackers then assaulted her.

Singh is a member of the Sector 4 anti-crime watch group.
