Mountain Rise SAPS make R20k dagga bust

Cst Carmen Jonas, Sgt Jeremy Paul, Cst Kitesh Mahadaw, Cst Claude Sucks, Sgt Sanele Zondi and Cst Sandile Gwala are seen with the recovered drugs.

Mountain Rise SAP recovered  R20,000 worth of compressed dagga on Monday afternoon. The Crime Prevention Unit received information which led them to an informal dwelling in the Malvern settlement near Cinderella Park. Cpt Gay Ebrahim spokeswoman for the station said, “A 39-year-old woman from Lesotho was in the house. She allowed police to conduct a search. About 10kg of compressed dagga was found under the bed.” The woman has been charged with dealing in dagga. She will appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
