Police appeal for information on stock theft

Police are looking for information on stock theft in the Claridge area.
Livestock to the value of R3300 and then R5500 have been stolen from the same area twice this month. On April 14, 18 sheep were locked up in a designated livestock area for the night. The next day, the complainant went to check why his workers had not fetched the keys for the sheep room. He was then informed by his workers that the sheep were already out and he assumed they had opened the sheep room. Upon inspection the complainant and his worker discovered the lock to the room was broken and the doors were wide open. Livestock to the value of R3300 was reported stolen.
A week later on April 22, the complainant discovered another three sheep were stolen from the same area. The total value of this livestock is R5500.
Police are appealing to the public for information that will lead to the recovery of the livestock and the apprehension of the suspects. Anyone with positive information can call the Head of Detective Services – Colonel Phozwa on 033 387 9646 or 079 500 0264.
