The appointment of a new regional task team (RTT) to manage the ANC’s troubled Moses Mabhida region has renewed hopes that that the ruling party will manage to heal the rift between opposing factions. Provincial secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli announced a new 20 member interim structure led by co-ordinator Thulani “Two Ways” Xulu and convenor Mandla Zondi. Xulu who has served in the PEC and a former Msunduzi Municipality Exco member said he was confident the new team will pull ANC members together. “For starters, there is a properly elected and legitimate provincial leadership that will assist and provide advice to the regional structure, that is very important. There is also a sense of a common goal and purpose from comrades,” said Xulu. The RTT is set to be introduced to branches this weekend. ANC Moses Mabhida Region ANC Youth League leader Guerilla Zondi also told Capital Newspapers that he was hopeful of a fully functional RTT. He said as the league they would welcome all possible efforts that would unite the region. “The important thing is that unity needs to be founded on sound principle, not just for public relations purposes. The good thing is that comrades are talking to each other and they realise the importance of resolving issues,” stressed Zondi. The 20 member RTT list features prominent names from the regional ANC spectrum including Mzi Zuma, Mthandeni Dlungwane, Sandile Dlamini and Thobekile Maphumulo. The other members of the RTT are Scelo Majozi, Samora Ndlovu, Mxolisi Mkhize, Nhlakanipho Ntombela, Thulani Mthalane, Mzimkhulu Thebola, Zine Dlamini, Sbongile Dlamini, Jabu Ngubo, Sbongile Mkhize, Philile Sithole, Nokuthula Msimango and Sbongile Mchunu.
