Suspects need bail

Kevin Beekrum, Maritsa Gouws, and Sifiso Shangase.

Three local business personalities will soon be thrown into a jail cell and only released from custody if they raise R100 000 bail!
The suspects, all notorious in their own right, will be held in custody in full view of the public at the Liberty Midlands Mall on Friday, October 19.
Capital Newspapers can today reveal the identities of the three suspects. They are Maritsa Gouws, Kevin Beekrum and Sifiso Shangase and have been linked to an attempt to Capture Cansa! Unless they raise the required R100 000, the villains face the prospect of life imprisonment. The good news is that should they raise the cash the money will be used to fight cancer and the three villains will become the city’s three superheroes!!
Our investigative team has managed to uncover some dirt on the three suspects.
Maritsa Gouws aka Super M is a franchise owner of Lock and Key Solutions. She is a qualified locksmith assessor, owner of the Locksmith Training School, national chairperson for the Locksmith Association of South Africa and the KZN Locksmith Association Branch chairperson. She has many accolades to her name including Business Women of the Year AHI 2011, Productivity SA finalist 2013 and Motivational Speaker 2017/2018 to name a few. She is a Charity queen at heart.
“CANSA has always been close to my heart as I lost my grandmother, my mother-in-law and close friends to this dreadful illness. I have seen the amazing work that CANSA does for its’ patients and their families. We need more people to get involved and for people to dig into their pockets to enable us to assist others. We must be united and strong for our loved ones who deserve the support.”
Kevin Beekrum is a director and member of various companies under the Xcelerate Group that specialises in the acquisition of large credit portfolios from banks and retailers, debt recovery, and contact centre services for various campaigns. The group runs a high volume contact centre in Buchanan Street, Pmb, where they services a large customer base throughout South Africa.
In addition to a passion for business and enterprise development, Beekrum is also involved in various community organisations and the underprivileged. Having being involved in the CANSA Jail & Bail fundraising drive for many years, he recognises the excellent work being done by the CANSA team and believes that there is a moral and social responsibility to support this noble cause.
Sifiso Shangase a father of three is an Environmental health officer at the Department of Health and also owns a minibus taxi owner. He studied at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg Campus, where he completed Law Degree.
“My father used to be a minibus taxi owner and I inherited the business from him. I developed much passion for this business at an early stage which made it so easy for me to run it. I also studied and graduated in Transportation Management Diploma at the University of Johannesburg. This Cancer initiative is important to me because my father passed away due to prostate cancer. This is a clear indication that there is an element of ignorance about this disease. I then decided to participate in this initiative to create awareness to our constituency in the minibus taxi industry as well as our African brothers and sisters who are not taking cancer seriously. Cancer is one of the dreadful diseases that are a silent killer, but early detection could save lives. Let us conduct check-ups fellow Africans for all forms of cancerous sicknesses. Singawunqoba umdlavuza inqobo uma sihlole kusenesikhathi.”
